Design for America
Bridging Design Thinking and Social Innovation Projects on a Digital Learning Platform
Roles
User Testing, Qualitative Research, Content Design, Design Strategy, Data Synthesis, Insight Findings
Challenge
Design for America project teams often struggle with goal setting and tracking progress effectively, hindering their ability to achieve project milestones and make a significant impact in their community.
Process
Gathered feedback from users on Loft's design iterations and analyzed 100+ pages of user research data to improve Loft's usability.
Developed and tested iterations of introducing the Loft to design students, starting with an email introduction that included a pitch as to why studio members would benefit from using the Loft.
Based on user feedback, the next iteration provided students with an example of a hypothetical project team engaging in each step of the goal-setting process on the Loft.
The final iteration was the creation of a goal-setting workshop that was used as a pilot study at Northwestern University and University of California at Davis.
Outcome
The development of onboarding tools for the Goal-Setting Support System on the Loft that is anticipated to be used at 29 college and university campuses nation-wide.
